BEEF CATTLE

Born here, raised here, fed what we grow.

Our Black Angus are born on this farm and stay here their whole lives. No sale barns, no buying in animals to fill out the herd. The cattle you're eating were born a few hundred yards from where they were loaded.

They eat what we plant.

Our cattle have pasture access, and they also eat hay and grain we grow on this farm. That's the part most farms can't say. When you grow the feed yourself, there's nothing about an animal's diet you have to take somebody's word for.

We chose Black Angus because the breed does well on this ground and because it eats the way we want it to eat.

PORK

Small groups, outside, doing what pigs do.

Our hogs are heritage breeds raised in small groups with outdoor access. Pigs are built to root and dig and move around, and a pig that can do those things is a healthier animal than one that can't.

Clean housing, good feed, low stress.

We handle our pigs calmly and we don't crowd them. It's slower and it takes more space. We think it shows up in the meat, and we know it shows up in the animals.

CHICKEN

Moved to fresh grass every single day.

Our chickens live in movable shelters out on pasture. Every day we move them to clean ground, which means fresh grass, bugs to chase, sunshine, and none of the buildup that comes from birds sitting in one place.

It's daily physical work, every day, in whatever weather the day brings. It's the part of this job that has no shortcut.

What they eat.

Chickens can't live on pasture alone, so ours get a quality feed alongside everything they forage. Between the grass and the grain, we think you can taste the difference.

THE FEED WE GROW

We're farmers before we're anything else.

Long before there was an online store, this was a crop and livestock farm, and it still is. We plant crops like corn, soybeans, alfalfa, wheat, and barley to produce as much of our animals' feed as we can right here.

That's not a detail. It's the reason we can answer your questions. A farm that buys its feed knows what the label says. A farm that grows its feed knows what's in the ground it came from.

THE LAND

Five generations have fed their families from this ground.

We'd like the sixth to be able to do the same. That shapes how we treat the place:

• Keeping the soil covered
• Keeping living roots in the ground
• Moving livestock across it
• Minimizing what we put on it and how much we disturb it
• Encouraging diversity in what grows here
