Natural. Farm-raised. Family farm. The package says a lot of things, and none of them tell you what the animal ate, where it lived, who raised it, or how the soil was tended.
It isn't built to. By the time meat reaches that shelf it has passed through so many hands that nobody left in the building could tell you where it started. So you put it in the cart and go home, because dinner has to get on the table.
We farm in Sparks, Maryland, on ground our family has worked for more than 135 years. We grow the feed, raise every animal from birth, and can hand you the package ourselves. That's why we can answer the question: we were there for all of it.
The same beef, the same chicken, the same pork that goes in your meals. We care about what's on their plates, and we know you care just as much about what's on your family's.
How the animals are raised, what they eat, where it's processed. It's all right here on this site, no digging required. And if there's something we didn't cover, just ask.

How the animals are raised, what they eat, where it's processed. We've got all the info right here on our site, before you spend a dollar. And, if you have any other questions, you can always ask us anything!
We can deliver to your door every Thursday. Order online and pick it up at the farm any day. Our self-serve farm store is open daily, 7am to 7pm. And we're at the Bel Air Farmers Market every Saturday.
Pull it out of the freezer and feed your family food you can account for, start to finish. Raised by people you can name, on ground we're working to hand our grandchildren in better shape than we found it.
No. We'd rather tell you exactly how we farm and let you decide than pay for a label.
Not routinely. In the rare chance an animal gets sick, we treat it. An animal's welfare comes first. Any animal that's been treated is removed from the meat supply.
Our cattle have pasture access and also eat hay and grain we grow ourselves.

A quarter, half, or whole beef, or a half or whole hog, priced by hanging weight. You choose your cuts on a cut sheet, and we'll walk you through every option. Most of our bulk customers are doing this for the first time.

Watson & William is named for Mike's great-grandfather, Watson Giddings Nash, and his grandfather, Carl William Nash. Our family has farmed here in Baltimore County for more than 135 years. It started as a dairy. Today it's beef, pork, chicken, and the corn, soybeans, and alfalfa we plant as the weather allows.
We farm like our grandchildren are counting on it: keeping the soil covered, keeping living roots in it, moving livestock across it, minimizing what we put on it and how much we disturb it, and encouraging diversity in what grows here.
We're not certified anything. We're just trying to leave this ground better than we found it, and raise our daughters knowing how.
